Rufus Giwa Polytechnic ND and HND Admission Requirements
After selecting a preferred course, the next crucial step is to confirm that you meet the admission criteria. Below are the essential requirements for both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programs at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic.
ND Admission Requirements
- Candidates must secure at least five (5) O’Level credits in related subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. These results must be obtained within a maximum of two sittings (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB).
- Applicants must have taken the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and achieved a minimum score of 110, which is the institution’s official cut-off mark.
- Rufus Giwa Polytechnic must be selected as either the first or second choice institution during JAMB registration. Candidates who did not initially select the institution can apply for a change of institution.
- Participating in the post-UTME screening conducted by the Polytechnic is mandatory for all applicants.
HND Admission Requirements
- A National Diploma (ND) certificate in a relevant field is required. The certificate must be from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic or any other recognized institution.
- Candidates must have at least one year of industrial training (IT) experience following their ND qualification. Those with an ND pass grade must complete at least two years of industrial training.
- Submission of academic transcripts from a previous institution is compulsory, except for candidates who completed their ND at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic.
- Applicants must possess at least five (5) O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, acquired in not more than two sittings.
